  Objectives: The educational objectives of the Addictions Outcomes Series are several: To assist readers in staying current with published outcomes literature in the behavioral health field, especially the addictions field. To provide readers with a broad perspective on the factors and forces that impact behavioral health care with emphasis on the addictions field. To help readers see the influences of issues that cut across behavioral health care with emphasis on the addictions field relative to managed care considerations. To keep readers current with the published literature in addictions.
  Description: These brief review articles examine the reliability of a drug history questionnaire; guidelines in addictions; residential stays as predictors of re-admission; student assistance programs; effectiveness of alcohol warning labels; excess cost of psychiatric care; and the effect of drug-user treatment on psychosocial change.
