  Objectives: Learning Objectives Readers will be able to describe some of the results of brain imaging research on learning Readers will be able to describe the results of Phase One of the NICHD Study of Early Child Care and concerns about drawing conclusions on impact on later age children.
  Description: These articles describe how brainscans are being used to study learning and how those results may be translated to the classroom; debates concerning whether dyslexia stems from a breakdown in the brains ability to process fast-paced information or from a language-specific deficit; and the results of the largest-ever study of child care which found little evidence that out-of-home care harms development in the first three years of life.
