Objectives:
Readers will learn about the variables affecting teacher acceptance of crisis intervention techniques, delivered by them, in their classrooms.
Description:
This study examined teacher attitudes regarding the provision of in-class crisis intervention services and factors associated with these attitudes. Factors studied included various demographic characteristics as well as frequency of crisis situations experienced in the classroom, amount of training in crisis intervention and sense of efficacy in using crisis intervention techniques. Because the views teachers hold about given behavioral interventions are associated with the quality with which those interventions are implemented, knowing which factors influence positive attitudes is important to successful implementation.
