The Spanish Family Center (in Miami, Florida) needed to develop interventions to help recent immigrant Hispanic families' work together to deal with the stress of acculturation. This article describes the Brief Strategic Family Therapy model they developed, using structural family therapy (SFT) as the core approach. Refinements have been made to meet the needs of Hispanic families in the Miami area.
