  Objectives: Readers will be able to describe at least two types of intervention programs used with batterers. Readers will be able to describe at least two types of typologies being considered for differentiating batterers. Readers will be able to identify at least two criminal justice system practices that might enhance the effectiveness of batterer intervention programs.
  Description: This report, a summary of the full-length study, presents basic information about batterer intervention programs operating throughout the country. The interventions described were selected to represent the range of programming available and include the established or "mainstream" programs as well as innovative approaches.
